Episode Description
In this episode of "21st Precinct," Sergeant Waters navigates a bizarre domestic situation when a man named Harry Frude seeks police advice about the care of an unpaid-for foster baby his wife, Cora, has taken in. The couple is tense, as Cora has recently grown attached to the child, while Harry is frustrated by the unexpected financial burden and the chaotic disruption to their lives. After a night of turmoil, including a fight that attracts police attention, it is revealed that Cora has left with the baby in a moment of distress. The police become involved in a potential case of abandonment when they discover that Cora's mother, Mrs. Natick, has not fulfilled her boarding payments. However, it ultimately comes to light that Mrs. Natick has been sending money regularly, unbeknownst to Harry, who has been gambling it away instead. When the police discover this, they realize that the baby has not been abandoned, and the couple finds themselves in a difficult position regarding their future and responsibilities.
