Hired Alibi

In this episode of The Whistler, Paul Burns, a desperate man with financial troubles, meets a hitchhiker who turns out to be a wanted fugitive. Seizing the opportunity, Paul offers the fugitive, Joe Norbella, a job at his mine and even arranges for him to stay at his house. Paul has a plan to frame Joe for a robbery at the mine, but when he learns that Joe's accomplice is his own daughter, Ruth, he confesses his scheme to the sheriff, hoping to clear Joe's name and protect his daughter.
