Gratitude

In this episode of The Whistler, titled 'Gratitude,' a young man named Cliff Garner saves the life of wealthy movie producer Sid Lorenz and expects a substantial reward for his heroism. However, after feeling disappointed with the lack of appreciation, Cliff decides to steal valuable medieval manuscripts from Lorenz's safe. He plans to sell them, but when complications arise and Lorenz passes away, his lawyers inform Cliff that the stolen manuscripts were left to him in Lorenz's will as a gesture of gratitude. In a panicked state, Cliff ultimately burns the manuscripts to avoid the legal ramifications of the theft.
