Last of the Devereaux

In this episode of The Whistler, Paul Vertel aims to take possession of the Cypresses estate from the Devereaux family by means of a foreclosure. However, he meets resistance from the elderly Master Devereaux, and a mysterious curse seems to hang over the estate. After a series of unsettling events and Devereaux's untimely death, Paul marries Anne, only to discover that she is actually Anne Devereaux, seeking revenge for her father's murder. A deadly game of cat and mouse ensues, ultimately leading to Anne's insanity and a tragic outcome for them both.
