The Green Thing

In the year 2175, at Dr. Harvey Glunden's sanitarium, patients experience a horrifying recurring dream involving a "green thing" with pink eyes and claws. Dr. Glunden, an innovative psychiatrist, uses a machine that translates dreams into film and discovers that multiple patients are having the same nightmare, which suggests a form of mental telepathy rather than individual dream creation. As he investigates, patients begin to disappear, and it is revealed that their dreams are being manipulated by an extraterrestrial being from Venus, seeking to control them for its own purposes. A confrontation occurs in a cave, leading to a struggle against the alien's mind control. The psychiatrist and his assistant manage to escape and block the cave entrance, trapping the alien. The episode closes with the promise of further exploration of scientific themes in the next story.
